This report is a little late but I promised DrewP, I'd give a full report along with a picture that would give a better idea of the location I was fishing, and here it is. The conditions were absolutely miserable, it had poured down rain all day long, and the water temp was down to 52 degrees, and the smallie bite had shut off, so I decided to head north and search for some warmer water. I found a bay with 57 degree water and a lot of wind, and really stained water, so I moved up into 5 foot deep water with lily pad stems growing all the way to the shoreline, grabbed a chartruese and white 3/8 oz strike king burner with double willow leaf blades, put the trolling motor on high and went to town. I would make about 30 casts to the shoreline, and then I'd make about 30 casts out away from the shoreline. I'm going to guess that I made over 200 casts before I hit the first fish which was just over 4 pounds, and then about 3 casts later I hit the big female. I left the area immediately after that, because I thought I'd found a good start to a pattern, and I didn't want to catch anything else off that spot. In case you're wondering, during the tournament, I can tell you my partner & I made over 1000 casts, and probably covered 1/4 mile throughout that cove (it's a massive flat that runs all the way out to the channel), and never touched a fish or even saw one. We committed to that pattern and that spot and it burned us...oh well that's fishing for you! Tight lines! - Dave
