Got to lake at about 9 a.m. Water temp at public launch was constant all day at 64 degrees. Best lure of the day was a firetiger Crank bait bouncing off rip rap. Water was fairly calm until about 5 p.m. when the wind blew for a short period of time maybe an hour or two then settled down. First fishing trip of year that crank bait's were the ticket to success. largest fish of the day caught off the end of one of the longer rip raps weighted in at 6lbs. 4ozs. Steve's fish weighted 3lbs 7 ozs. Saw today for the time this year a couple of bass doing the spawning ritual. Fish are still coming in to spawn. All fish were loaded with eggs and aggressive still feeding for the spawn. Water clarity was partially clear for this lake in some section and murky in other sections of the lake. All fish caught on crankbaits swallowed the plug and swam off side ways with out no feel on the strike but were swallowing the plug so far deep had to be careful not to damage gills when removing. Weather was a little over cast this morning but turned out to be a nice sunny day.
