Hit american for the first time today. Great new boat launch with docks and all...sweeeet....the pay meters aren't up and running yet so its freeee, even sweeeeter!

trolled out of the launch and got a strike right away on wedding ring and worm. Consistent strikes all day, not much wind, only a few party boats, some float plane action, but all in all a nice lake for a weekday (Im sure it gets to be a madhouse on the weekends and holidays).

fished mostly along the west side, tried some bottom fishing without much luck. Seemed like the bite slowed a little after 9 or so, but the fish started getting a bit bigger too. Also lots of Golden and bald eagles to watch, pretty cool.

mostly stockers all day,a couple perch, a lunker from the deep hit my hook mid-morning but freed himself after we made eye contact so I couldn't see just how big he really was, damn crafty lake chicken!! :)

It's at the park on the west side of the lake before you get to VA hospital.

Was there Friday and Parks and Rec dude was trying to get "Iron Ranger" online to take launch fees. You really think they are gonna let Memorial day weekend go by without recouping money for those nice docks and all that asphalt? Haha! Got lots of limits in that area this past week trolling chartreuse rooster tails or black/red bangtail with silver blade. Sometimes half a worm gets the short biters 3rd pass around! Biggest are between 2-2.5lbs! Lip hooked and sent back anything under 14" guys that will live. Let em GROW!
