Well, I tried to head out to Flowing lake around 1:00pm today but the boat launch was full. I assume it was full of water skiers and jet skier since it was 81 degrees today. Not sure I want to fish with all that going on anyway. So I headed over to Panther Lake, headed to the north end for Bass to start with. Got a couple good hits of a crayfish crankbait, neither of them wanted to come in the boat though, they threw the hook. :-( Pretty slow after that so I trolled around a bit to see what I might hit on a dark green flatfish. Nailed a nice 15" Rainbow trout about 1/2 way down the lake. Got a couple more strikes but no fish. Caught a good sized perch on a wedding ring and red power bait a bit later. Tried for Bass off and on but could not land any thing. I am fairly new to Bass fishing so I am happy to be getting strikes for now :-) I will refine my style over time, a fish/ depth finder will help too. So the fishing is good at Panther right now. Think I may head back out there for the "Bass that got away" next weekend.
