Spent the day at Sprague, launched at Campground, owner was helpful as this as my first time there, he had a map of the lake with depths and danger areas as this is a shallow lake, 19 feet at the deepest. (I didn't mind the launch fee, this is a nice facility) Started out the wind was blowing, thought it would be a bad day of fishing as we all know the wind makes things tough. Caught our first fish within ten minutes, about three pounds maybe just under, nice fish great fight on light tackle. The guys I was fishing with were initially not very confident with what I wanted us to try, they had other ideas about trout fishing, well we tired my way and twenty minutes after the first we had another. We caught fish consistently until the wind died, when the water went to glass fishing was tougher but we did catch fish up until three PM when we had to leave. We hooked up eleven or twelve times brought eight fish home, one and a half pounds to one that was pushing four pounds. I was trolling Rapalas F9s, and they need to be back theres a ways, remember to drive a slight "S" pattern if the water is calm. The other item that did well to EVERYones suprise was "Slow Death". Of the twelve fish caught slow death caught 6 and the Rapalas caught 5, one guy had a fly out near the surface and caught one, if I fish Sprague again I hope the wind blows. David

My biggest trout at Sprague Lake have been in the wind. What is the fee for the launch at Four Seasons now? It is worth it there with the best launch on the lake including a dock, and great info and help from the owners.

The fee was five dollars and for me it was worth it, like nice dock, help, small store incase you forgot anything and a nice fish cleaning station, it was nice not having to clean fish on the boat and this way when I got home all I had to do was drop the fillets in the brine and I was done. Its a two hour drive for me but if I can get two people to go I'll go again, David
