Spent the day at Sprague, launched at Campground, owner was helpful as this as my first time there, he had a map of the lake with depths and danger areas as this is a shallow lake, 19 feet at the deepest. (I didn't mind the launch fee, this is a nice facility) Started out the wind was blowing, thought it would be a bad day of fishing as we all know the wind makes things tough. Caught our first fish within ten minutes, about three pounds maybe just under, nice fish great fight on light tackle. The guys I was fishing with were initially not very confident with what I wanted us to try, they had other ideas about trout fishing, well we tired my way and twenty minutes after the first we had another. We caught fish consistently until the wind died, when the water went to glass fishing was tougher but we did catch fish up until three PM when we had to leave. We hooked up eleven or twelve times brought eight fish home, one and a half pounds to one that was pushing four pounds. I was trolling Rapalas F9s, and they need to be back theres a ways, remember to drive a slight "S" pattern if the water is calm. The other item that did well to EVERYones suprise was "Slow Death". Of the twelve fish caught slow death caught 6 and the Rapalas caught 5, one guy had a fly out near the surface and caught one, if I fish Sprague again I hope the wind blows. David
