First time fishing this small lake with limited bank access. Heard they had just planted it and so decided to get up early and giveI it a try. Out early and already a dozen boats on the lake (very rocky access and boats were small as carry in boat ramp) trolling as I was to find out mostly flat fish. Smooth water producing an occassional surface feeding on the May fly hatch. Caught small RB on 3rd cast and thought I was in for a productive day. 3 hrs. later with hits but no other landings I switched over to various colors of power bait without a nibble. The boaters were catching quiet a few, mostly undersized, but some big keepers by trolling flat fish. Ironic that many of the fish were caught right in front of me, a little past my ability to cast. Several told me that red was the color of choice. One area some bankers limited out in an hour (all un dersized) but the other bank fisherman had the same luck I did--- little. A week earlier I was told that red/white/blue PB was working, so I will have to try that next time.
Good lake for float tube (which I have to buy as soon as make up my mind which one) and I will try it again from the bank.
