Laketrout fishing here on Lake Chelan has been real consistent with targeting these fish off of Pat and Mikes and at the Yacht Club..The Lure of the week has been the Ace Hi-fly in the Green Double Glow Color by Silverhorde. Starting to see some Big Fish staging on Mack Bar which is the same scenario as the years past..They stage and ambush the migrating Kokanee as they are leaving the lower basin for the Journey to the head of Lake Chelan to spawn in the Stehekin river and tributaries.
Chinook Salmon here on the lake still remains Challenging, But not impossible..Try fishing for these fish early in the morning and Late in the evening to find them more aggressive..Fish a whole herring or the Ace Hi-fly for best results. Troll for these fish off Rocky Point, The Monument , and at the Cove to find the biters..Also you can try out from Kellys Resort.
Rufus Woods remains good fishing early in the morning for the best bite..Try trolling Wooley bugger style flies and pitch Roostertails in ΒΌ oz. to the shores to be productive. Remember that the Rules have Changed at Rufus Woods.. 2 fish limit.. 1 kok and 1 rainbow or 2 koks or 2 rainbow is your limit. Remember to retain those fish that are hooked deep.
The Woody debris has started showing in small raffs at and around the Yacht Club. Everybody be careful out there.. Feel free to call my cell # with questions or comments anytime..See you on the water..Tight Lines to all..
