I figure I need to put up if'n I want some help the next time I head out somewhere new. Two of us hit Wentworth for the day. Found some info in reports but no response from the board. Didn't get out too early and didn't stay too late, but spent most of the day on the water.
Lots of fish in the lake. Lots of little Kokes hitting the surface and being generally annoying. Rainbows were there too hitting the surface, but not coming up too well for dry flies, but liked them sunk or even slowly stripped. (odd but true). Damsel fly nymph stripped very slowly on intermediate line did the best for me. Caught lots of fish but nothing over 14 inches...most around 10. Saw a stringer of much larger fish also fly caught...she had the mojo I didn't.
Did see a boat hook and break off a fish and then said fish jumped its way across the lake for all to see as it tried to throw the hook off. Consensus was about 8lbs. Apparently they dumped some left over steelhead in after the kids fishing derby a week or two ago.
RD 2000 off of 101, left on RD 2006 left again on RD5200 and then left agian about 1/2 mile later (you'll know it's the one because its well traveled).
