Started at noon, trolled the 20/30 foot zone. Had some trouble with my rigging but at 1:15 PM the line started wailing, I started to set the brakes on the reel and about 50 feet out a fish broke the surface after a good tussle and a lot more surfacing, I brought to the hand a Kokanee! I really debated on releasing him but the thought of how it look would be on the grill (plus external pressure from my wife about showing something for my time), beat out, so into the creel he went.
He weighed in at 3.5 lbs, 16”, caught on a green wedding ring (debarbed) with a two oz weight four-foot leader on each.
He tasted excellent, my first koke!
Cheers, Jerry
