Well I have never fished Fan lake but after reading several reports of Mikes on Fan I decided to go for it. I arrived at the lake around 1800 and launched the poon and went to the narrows to try my hand at some chironomid fishing with no luck, (but that doesn't saY much because I am new to that process of catching trout. So tried trolling around with leeches, brown, black, olive, etc: with no takers after fishing for approx 1.5 hours I decided to throw in the towel, tied on a big ugly woolly bugger on a 1/0 hook with brown body and hackle, cone head and yellow rubber legs, I started to pound the bank staying in 10' of water fishing all the structure I could find. I landed 10 bass up to 3.5 lbs in the next hour.. No trout but needed to be flexible and still had a great evening.
