Hit Lake Stevens Solo this morning at 6:30 AM,..water was 70 degrees,..headed straight 2 the west side across form the launch near the City Hall,..decided 2 start with a Jointed-Bass-Rapala J7,..4th cast and I get a decent SMB,..CPR and at it again,..3 docks South and another Bronzie hits,..this one is smaller so I just release it,..worked the area a little more and moved on,..figured I'd hit the Bridge on the South End of the lake,..some nice lilypads and very shallow,..I get there and decide 2 throw my Spro Bronzeye Frog,..not paying attention and not thinking I would get a tug,..2nd cast and I get hit,..but of course I wasn't prepared and I set the hook 2 soon,..should've counted 1-2-3 then set,..after that let down I kept tossin the Spro,..I even changed colors,..nadda,..then as I'm repositioning my boat I see the Largie,..this LMB is a BIGGUN,..she's cruising around about 5 feet from my boat,..I grab my Jir Rod and start flippin,..I'd see her for a minute then lose sight of her in the lettuce,..I grabbed my Crank Rod and tie on a weightless Lizard,..then a Senko,..then a Brushhog,..then a Curlytail Grub,..man I tried everything,..HaHa,..after 40 mins of that I left the area then came back in 30 mins,..I start with a Frog again,..nothing,..I move closer and waited,..looking for her,..no sight of the Bass,..she was a beauty none-the-less and hopefully I'll return and maybe give her another chance at my Frogs,..off the lake at 8:45,..not 2 bad for a new lake!
