Arrived at the lake around 3pm. Weather was very warm and a couple of boats were already on the water. This day, I was primarily interested in the bass action, having heard that this lake has a healthy bass population in addition to some very good structure. Started out flipping leeches and woolly-buggers around the docks and pilings with no luck. As I reached the lily pads at the far end, I started hooking up on rainbows to 12 inches in only about four feet of water. I then tied on my "Tijuana Worm" and began flipping it into the openings in the pads and started hooking up six inch bass; on a flyrod, they're loads of fun! Never caught anything of size. I did watch a young man in a drift boat flipping up against the bank. He hooked up with something large as he was having trouble getting it out of the weeds with his flyrod. Talked to him later; says it was about a five pound bucketmouth that broke him off after getting wrapped up in the weeds!
