Took the wife and son to Newman in the evening to target some Largemouth Bass, unfortunately I was the only one that caught anything. We hit the north end lillies and I ending up catching 5 LMB all under 3lbs, then we went to the south end in about 13 ft of water for some nice Crappie.
Caught the Bass on a Zoom lizard and used the usual Chartreuse 2" curly tail grub for the Crappie.

We were there 5:30-9:00 and went to the south end about 8:30 for the Crappie, found them along the south end where it starts to drop off in 12-13 feet of water out past the big trees on the middle part of the south end, I jigged right off the bottom and nailed about 8 but kept only 2 in the 9-11" range.

thanks for the info, i know the spot you're referring to. i have had luck with perch in that same spot and even spent some time there yesterday. i was casting a crappie spinner setup but kept getting bumps by dinks. shoulda tried jigging off the bottom. my big boat is in the shop so i was out in my little 12ft aluminum last night and i sure missed having my fishfinder!

i did close out the night with a nice bass caught in the SW corner though, so the night wasn't a total loss. sure would have liked to have come home with some crappie though. ;-)

thanks again for sharing the info!
