I talked with a Game Warden at the corps boat launch just prior to launching my boat today (Sunday 14 June) at noon and he confirmed that Pacific Seafood lost 32,000 triploids from their pens in the 4 to 6 pound range early last week. The wife & I fished RW today from noon till 4:45 when the wind came up and lightning to the Southeast caused us to bail. We fished from well #8 up past the lower set of pens casting to the bank and I'm sure Pacific Seafood lost 32,000 Trip's because we brought at least half that many to the boat for catch & release. We used freshly tied Trout Pellet Flies and had doubles more often than not. Based on the numbers, today was probably the best day of fishing I've ever had on Rufus Woods. Get’em while its hot boys. Good news travels fast. Weather today was high overcast from noon until about 4:45 when Mother Nature decided to show us what she could do. In a period of about 15 minutes it went from nice to "We need to get the boat off of the water right now" first photo shows the water as we put in at the launch at noon and second photo shows the lake at 5:00 pm. If you travel up to Rufus Woods... Make sure you are prepared for all kinds of weather because it can and does change very quickly. Stay Safe Out There…

Hey mountainman, we always try to throw several different offerings at the RW Triploids just to see what/if the fish will hit on and see if we can pull the next state record. My arsenal consists mostly of small spinners (Super Rooster Tails) and Kastmasters and a few different marabou jigs. I also like throwing the Blufin Loui recommended B-2 Squid on a ¼ oz jig head to the shore in root beer or motor oil color. This trip out prior to the weather turning bad I trolled a small flat fish in perch color deep along the can line just to see what would happen and got skunked on the flat fish.
