After finishing our tour of Trout Lake, Aaron twisted our arms and dragged us over to Dolloff. So I am not sure how to get back here but I enjoyed my time out on the new body of water. Back at Trout Lake I rigged up my favorite plastic, the black w/ blue flake kreature. Just getting off of the dock and waiting for Aaron and Nathan to make it to the water I make a cast into the lily pads to the left of the launch. Miss a fish right away. Thinking that is either a good or a bad sign. I shake my head and let Jerry know I just missed one. I cast right back to the area and hook into a 1.5 pounder. Aaron hollers over to me ... "So Jay do you like this lake?" Grinning all I can say is "Yep!" Nathan and I head off to the left where a little later I hook into a 2 pounder off the brush hog. I help Nathan rig up on the brush hog. The wind picks up a little so Nathan stays down in that area of the lake to work it a little more. I will have to say I enjoyed watching everyone’s techniques out on the water. If you blink Jerry is lapping you in the lake as he fishes quickly. Nathan shows great patience as he fishes even though he has yet to bring one to the tube. Sometimes I wish I had a little bit of that from him as I am sure in the end that attention is going to help him be an awesome bass fisherman. I would say that Aaron and I fish closer to the same speed. I continue up and meet up with Jerry and Aaron, looking at my watch I see I am running out of time so I cross the lake and do what I can on the other side with the wind helping me back to the dock. As a plan crosses over head and I watch it for a moment, I jerk my rod thinking I hung up again. Continuing to look around I notice that the snag I thought I got want to swim to the middle of the lake. I set the hook and bring it in to the side of the tube. Another good 2 pounder. Trying to lip it, the fish gives a shake and a jump then gives me my kreature back as it spits it in my lap. Thanks Aaron for a good new lake, one that I will want to try again.
