Went to Tapps this morning. Got out on the lake at about 6:00 am. Fished around a small island for a bit. Tried fishing for both bass and muskies with Bucktails, Senkos, Top Water and spinner baits. Had very little luck with that. Then moved to this one spot that always produces some decent sized bass with us. Managed to pull a couple bass out of that hole but it still didnt seem like the fish were really stacked in that location. On the way out we tried trolling some plugs past some points and had fairly good luck.

I really think that the bass there might be in post spawn mode and suspending off points. We had our best luck trolling crankbaits around points that had humps located around them. We would go from 30 feet deep to about 20 and seemed to be getting the bites about halfway up the hump.. All together we caught about 10 or so bass. Most of them were little dinks but about 3-4 of them were 12-14 inches long.

Still no luck with Muskie though, not even a follow. Maybe next time.

Fish the weed beds and weed lines in any of the places noted on the lake map here on washingtonlakes. I've seen quite a few of them lately. It's gonna take 10,000 casts though.....
