We hit the Southern Beach of Omak again and had fantastic results. The water has warmed to 70 degrees on the surface and the fish are moving deeper into 35-60 feet of water. Most of the fish will be caught 15-30 feet deep. We were trolling darting plugs at 2.4, mostly in green glow colors. We caught and released 28 fish (we crimp our barbs down.) in 3 hours. Most are in the 14-18 inch range, but we had 6 fish in the 3-5 lb. class. We trolled 2 downrigger rods and 2 outrigger rods; the outriggers outfish the downriggers probably 5 to 1 for some reason. A beautiful lake and beautiful fish! Remember, it is on the Colville Indian Reservation; buy a tribal license accordingly. Also, you need an 18-23 foot boat as this lake can get windy in a hurry. It is an 8 mile boat ride to the good fishing spots.
