I went exploring today looking for a new lake with largemouth bass. I launched my small boat onto Lake Carney and cruised the shoreline looking for bass or old spawning nest. Talked with a shoreline resident who said that there was only rainbow and bullhead catfish in the lake. I made a few cast with jigs and Rapalas trying to prove him wrong but I now think he is probably right. The launch is awful for a trailered boat. You will have both the rear and front wheels in the gravel and muck before you can float a boat off the trailer. I will leave this one to the trout anglers.
