The last hour of the day saved our three star rating for Long on Tuesday. We started fishing at about 5:00 in the afternoon from the Spokane House Launch. Tied into two small smallies right away in the tailout pool below the bar in the river.

After that, we tried to find some Largies along the lake all the way to the pads across from Tum Tum with little luck. I did however spot an unbelievable largemouth that from a distance I was sure it was a carp. That beauty was 6+ and had some friends hanging out in a root ball hole along a steep bank. Only found her because I was retreiving my lure from said root ball.

Point being, with water temps still only flirting with the over 70 mark, the green bass were still pretty shallow.

Anyways, I wanted to get some topwater action over the smallies in the river before we left and we headed in to walk some spooks over the bar and the pools in the river section. After the two of us missing six or so major boils on the bar, frustration was beginning to set in. Todd turned it around however, with a nice 3-11 largemouth from the mouth of the little river. I'm pretty convinced the only reason he pinned that one was because he wasn't paying attention...
