Took my fiancee Pam over to Moses Lake on the 4th to try for big trout, but ended up pitching jigs and nightcrawlers for smallmouth bass when the trout wouldn't cooperate. I did see three different people catch rainbows, but only a fish apiece. We tossed 1/16th oz jigs tipped with worms, hoping to maybe tag a walleye or two. Around 9 a.m. the power boats and jet ski's made fishing from my 10' jon boat a headache. Still, we caught nearly 20 smallmouth, mostly little guys. Pam caught her biggest Smallie ever though, a solid 3 pound fish on a smoke reaper leach that took drag and made her all smiles. A picnic later and a stroll on a sandy beach made it a pretty nice 4th of July. The Jigmiester
