My son and me and my buddy arrived at the boat launch about 7:00 am .It was gonna be a hot day so we wanted to be off the lake by noon. We headed toward the Little Nisqually river got to the mouth and started pitching jigs. My son was using yellow and white 2.0 inch grubs and my buddy was dropping a crappie jig with a piece of worm. I was using a medium size crawler with 1/16 oz. split shot about foot and a half from a #4 hook. Slowly trolling along the bank of the river mouth with the electric at speed 1. I added some scent to the worm and cast toward the bank then bam the fight was on . My first nice size smallie this year got the drenelin going . I didn't have a net so my son lipped it for me he was excited. I caught another in the same area and then we headed out toward Elbe end to find some crappie, but no luck. We headed back to the launch about noon and boats and watercrafts were lined up from Hwy 7 to the launch We were happy to leave early. I also hooked up a nice Koke for my wife to have for lunch. All other Fish (Bass and Perch) were released.
