Well, I am a regular on Newman. I go thursdays, last Thusrsday I went with another local and regular to Newman Jason T. We launched out in my 12ft Aluminum at 3:30am. Fished along the Southeastern pads from 3:30- 7am worked very slow with topwaters until dawn then switched to rubber worms texas rigged. Jason missed hook-sets on three hits with his Topwaters. I never had a bite untill switching baits. Lots of very light and hard to feel bites as the bait falls. My rod is a pretty cheap Walmart kill and is not very sensitive so I miss far toomany hits. But from about 4:45 till about 6:30 I ended up with four LMB - 1st= 14in, 2nd= 14in, 3rd 16 3/4in, and 4th= 13in. Then around 7:30 Jason landed a 15in LMB on his topwater. Fishing died down around 8am with no bites, strikes, or even visuals. Went to the A frame Resort for lunch and dropped Jason off... returned to the water about 3pm, trolled for Tigers because the Bass weren't moving, no luck. 7pm, Northeastern cove, pads, 13in LMB on rubber worm. Five total for me, none kept all CPR (Catch Photo Release). Hope to see you out there. Every Thursday I drive the Spray painted Eagle Summit, ugly and funny, you'll know it if I am there. lol.
