Selective Gear Rules
Only unscented artificial flies or lures with one single-point, barbless hook are allowed. Up to a total of three artificial flies or lures, each containing one single-point, barbless hook may be used. Bait is prohibited; fish may be released until the daily limit is retained. Only knotless nets may be used to land fish. No one may fish from any floating device equipped with an internal combustion motor,
except where specifically allowed under Special Rules for individual waters. If any fish has swallowed the hook or is hooked in the
gill, eye, or tongue, it should be kept if legal to do so.

It sucks that they turned this into a fly-fishing lake, it's a good lake for trout. Didn't even know they turned it into a selective gear rules lake until I went up there a few weeks ago with a friend then looked at the rules before fishing and saw that it was selective gear. Had a guy come up to me when i was about to throw a wooly bugger into the water thinking i was using bait, and he did it very rudely haha I shouldve mouthed back but didn't. The guy did end up telling me that their fly fishing club just planted 500 2-3 lbs in there about a month ago, so if youre into the fly fishing this will be the lake to go to catch a nice fish.

Why does it suck???????????? 99% of the lakes in washington are put and take bait lakes. So adding another selective lake is great for the SPORT of trout fishing.

Well I don't even eat fish myself so the put and take bait thing doesn't apply to me. Also when I was there a few years ago when it wasn't selective fishing I still saw plenty of fish in that lake rising and fish being caught in the middle of summer. But I guess they need one of those lakes up in that area since the closest lake that applies to that are the olympic national forrest lakes or Cady Lake.

d.lar i am a little curious at your ignorance for the no bait policy because as you walk down to the lake there are signs every were posted on the trees, dock, and the information boards about how the lake is artificial lures only... And jbball50 i am surprised you think that this sucks that it is a fly-fish only lake. To me it makes sense, the lake is not very big if every body goes down and fishes with bait the lake is wiped out by the end of the summer under the rules of the past. At least now with the fly-fish only and one fish a day limit it leaves more fish in the lake and a chance at a truly decent fish, because now more fish stay in the lake longer. An if you can learn to fly fish it would make you a more versatile fisherman.

No signs anywhere not even in the book does it say fly fishing only. You fly fishermen just hate us using lures and catching the fish you could be. Dont let it be a public lake if youi dont want us in it. P.s. most you who claim to be fly purist use lures from time to time also when you cant land one with a fly. Dont denie it I see it all the time after you claim to be lure virgins!!!!
