Took my Kayak out to Alder lake yesterday and put in around 5:45pm.
Started out trolling an orange/silver Dick Nite with a 1/4 oz sinker. No hits, so I switched to a 2oz plunker weight. Still nothing, added a 2nd 2oz plunker figuring the fish were down where its cold. No sooner than I had my line out, caught #1. Caught another one with the Dick Nite and got a good hit that spit out after about 5 seconds.
After the third hit, I went in a little shallow and lost my lure to a Cedarmouth.
At that point I changed over to a yellow beaded wedding ring and started to troll back. Caught 3 more trout.
Released all the Trout, 2 were ~8 inches and the other 3 were ~12 inches. Not really worth keeping. I'd like to get some Kokanee, but I'm sure I'm not using the right technique for that.
All in all, a nice relaxing afternoon. Got most of the fish on the west side of fish island (shaped like a fish on the map)
