Sorry for the late report fishing Wed night into Thurs Morning. My two fishing buddies and I got on the lake about 10:30 pm and whent to our spot and realized we forgot the fish finder. so we started where we thought we where and obviously not I would gues we where in 40ft + of water and after a about 20min 1 bud caught a 4lb mack and in the next hour ended up catching 4 more smaller macks. I finally talked them in to moveing in closer to shore and finally we started catching Koks. But at about 2:30 am they quit biting. We ended up leaving with 10 koks. Missed lots of bites and lost many fish this time. Oh the fish are quite large 12" to 15" with most being 13.5"

As I stated before I have been using my ice rod with the spring tip and it works awsome at being able tell if I am getting a bite. But, I do lose about half of the fish at the surface. So tonight (Sat) when we go back I am going back to my reg rod and I am going to try to hook up a pencil spring to the tip.has anybody else ever tryed this technique, if so any tips would be appreciated.
