Hi There, My granddaughter and I also went out on Sunday, got there about 6:30 in the afternoon and fished the extreme south end of the lake until 9:00; four bites and one perch landed. We used worms, jigs, perch rig, you name it...nothing seemed to work on them. Our fish finder showed 30' of water and one school after another coming through. Last week we caught half a dozen nice rainbows in the same spot but it wasn't nearly as hot, as you know.

My question is: where did you find a 20' spot with perch and rock bass where the idiots weren't tearing up the water? I had to chase several idiots out of the south end for kicking up huge wakes (sure wish someone in Authority would start ticketing those scoff laws). Were you south of the Army Marina? I've yet to hook into a rock bass and yet I've read several reports about good-sized rockies being caught (I know that when they start biting it's usually pretty difficult to keep them off your hook).

Thanks for any directions or advice you can offer, Jeretired (my boat's in the Army marina if you ever want to head out and try catching some fish once the weather cools down). I've got a news 5HP 4-stroke Nissan I'm dying to break-in so I can troll for some Kokanee, just have to "find the time"......

I was on the lake the day previous to you (we were tubing with the kids). I threw in a line just to see what i could catch as i've never been on that lake. my 5yo and i ended up catching 11 rock bass and 6 perch in 45 minutes ( i forgot my anchor so i was continually having to move the boat back and forth over the spot). we were using crappie jigs (white and pink/white) tipped w/worm. i was south of the marina near the shore line/ wooded area. i was in 16 ft water. we fished the weedline/dropoff. almost every cast we had a fish on. smallest being 6 inches, biggest being 11". we realeased all of them. i too had never caught a rock bass; never even seen one. i'd like to back sometime, but live in kirkland so chances are i won't, not when i can get keeper perch closer to home.

Hey guys! Just do what I do...call in the boat/PWC registration #'s to Lakewood Police so they have an excuse to take out their new boat and use that brand new launch ramp over there! Remember white buoys mark 5mph/NO WAKE zones! Another great reason to have unlimited minutes on the cell phone...HAHA! It's the least you can do if you are hardcore enough to fish in 90 degree weather like I am. Oh yeah, just use #6/8 hooks on 2-3 foot 2 lb. test flouro leader and bits of nightcrawler and you'll catch perch all day once you locate the school, regardless of depth! Big ones and occasional rainbow 75-100 yards off Harry Todd dock...TIGHT LINES, WIND IN YOUR FACE, CHECK YOUR KNOTS, AND FOLLOW YOUR FISH!

I was at the South end past the VA just past the point that sticks out with the picnic shelter, and a big no dumping sign. almost dead center at about 6pm the sun is blocked by all the trees. the wake wasnt to bad but my boat is to big for the anchor I have so I eventually drifted into shore but I was picking the perch up all the way. same area last weekend I had a nice rainbow on while casting. there are a bunch of 3-4" rainbows in that area right now so I have a feeling all the big fish are there to. Anyone know where to pick up some small mouth I have worked almost every inch of shorline and the sunken Island this summer with no luck. plenty of rock bass but no small mouth.
