Made it out to the lake around 4:30 and was in the water shortly after that. Yes it was hot but a welcoming breeze was coming off the water. BassDood and I worked our way up the shore throwing a combination of topwater and plastics. I was really on a mission to see how I could work a spook and a spro frog from the tube. Jerry ended up hooking into a beautiful fish weighing in at 5 pounds 12 ounces. She was a toad! Later in the evening I hooked into one at around 1.5 on the spook and had another maybe 3 pounds boil over it but not take the bait. By the end of the night I had a family of bats keeping the bugs away from me and a comfortable evening breeze as the day finally cooled down. Was an awesome trip and at least I got to be the camera guy! Who says the fish don't bite when it is extrahot and blue skys ... just have to have fun and get out there.
