only chance the wife and i had to fish was late but went anyways. started fishing from boat launch up the east side. nothing. started to get dark as we ended up on the south side and finally caught one 10 incher. this is the lake i have caught the biggest fish of my fishing days. anybody else fish for the largemouths on Ki? any tips? night fishing tips? its tough fishing here but the big fish keep me trying. good lake. I need to find the big ones weaknesses.

This lake does have some TOADS in it.Last year i saw one that was 8-10lbs.i have caught up to 6 lbs. here but most are 2 1/2-5 pounds. It is tough though.i dont know if they just hide well or if there just aren't alot of fish in here.i lean towards just not alot in there. In late summer like now,i've done good fishing senkos and flukes around any vegitation. The s/w arm of the lake has the most fish.then there are a few other areas with lily pads that hold fish too.

The main thing about Lake Ki is CLEAR water! Try fast moving baits fished deep in natural colors (shad or trout), also jerkbaits you can twitch erratically, position your boat out in deeper water, about a cast length from where you would be to fish the docks.... especially this time of year!!
Another good technique is to fish along the wooded south side with carolina rigs out to 20-25 feet, use weights up to 3/4 ounce and big worms on a short leader (apprx 1-1.5' leader)!
If you night fish try Rapala Skitter Pops, and black texas rigged worms... good luck! B8
