I read a recent report on this lake and realized that I didn't even know it existed. I'm not too familiar with the area lakes. I packed to boys and the boat up and we headed out. I grabbed my first fish in about 10 min. Small one on a roboworm with 1/16 oz. bullet weight. Tried a lipless crank and got hit the first cast. I initially thought I was snagged until the pole gave that familiar tug, tug. I figured I was on to something good. No sooner did that happen when a small splash far out set my lure free. More casting provided nothing. I went back to the roboworm while the boys tossed senkos. Nothing. I put on a spinner bait in "sexy shad" color and caught a nice one about 2# on the first cast. The next cast grabbed an even bigger one that freed himself as he was being lifted to the boat. The "sexy shad" was consistent after that with most of the fish being smaller and one other nice one. Seven boated fish, many missed, all released unharmed. The boys thought I was a pro.
