Hit up Sammamish today. Caught a few nice Trout and they are in my smoker right now. I havent had any luck with Bass on this lake what so ever. I had a few hits on Pine one day but that was it. I am wanting to float from Lake Sammamish to Lake Washington. I have a 8 foot pontoon boat that would be perfect. However I have never done this float before and I have heard stories from different people saying that its a good float and it takes all day and the last guy I talked to said half way through the float the slew turns into swampy marsh lands. I have done a few tree jobs in Bothell and and taken a few trees in the back yard of a house where the little creek rolls through and thats how I found out that it comes from Lake Sammamish. Does anybody know anything about this float? I need to do it before the days start getting any shorter. Any info at all would be much appreciated. Good luck all you anglers out there. I hope you have better luck with the bass than I have

Go for it, and report back on the forum. It's not like your in the wilderness, so if you get stuck you can call somebody. The water in the area of Wayne golf course Bothel... is very slow, and seems a little stagnant. That is not a bad thing really, it is plenty deep to float, but in comparison to the beginning of the slough by Marymoore,, it is a stronger current and fresher looking. Be aware that from Lake Sammamish all the way to the 68th AVE NE bridge in Kenmore... it is selective gear rules. (baitless, barbless) only that last little bit of sough out to Washngton is not Selective gear rules.

I was thinking I would just float down it and not fish the first time just to get familiar with the float and see what its like. I did not know that it was selective gear. Its a good thing I posted on the sight asking about it because Im not even sure what the name of that slough is. Im not worried about getting stuck or lost. Do you happen to know where in Lake Washington it pops out at? I need to let the girlfriend know where she's gunna have to pick me up

You might want to go to go down to the Marymoore Offleash Dog park and check out the section along there. If I remember right there is a little spot along there that goes wide and shallow and has a little falls (like 2'). Not that it would be dangerous, but it might be a pain to have to carry your toon over...
If you want to know where on Lake Washington it comes out, take a look at Google maps at the far north-east corner of lake Washington..

Is the name of the slough "Sammamish river?" I was thinking about launching from Marymoore but then I remembered seeing the slough run right past the KFC in Redmond and i think i can slip my boat in from one of the parking lots. I am going to camp out at Spyder lake next weekend and am busy the weekend after that so I probably wont be doing the float for about 3 weeks if I can get enough infor about it before then. Thanks for all the info so far! Kepp it coming
