I started out at my favorite spots in Magnasun Park around 8:30 am. I had some hits but all from Little guys. I sawl some Large mouth under a friends floating house a few days prior so I drove to east lake and casted into every little hole I could hit from the shore. I ended up hooking 3 smallies in the first hour and a half. The first 2 were under a pound and the 3rd one was a nice fat 3, 3 1/4 Pounder though if flopped off the dock befor I got the photo. That was irritating. I ate lunch at Red Robin around 11am. I started towards the south end and Hooked a odd fish. I think it was a Rock Bass? I was dead sticking a plastic worm and power fishing at the same time. I noticed my line with the worm on it was limp for a while so I set the hook for no certin reason and I hooked it. It was heavy for how short it was. Mabye almost 2 ibs. Hard to say, I left my scale at home. Shortly after, I found a school of suspending Largemouth under a boat dock so I went to town on them. They were sluggish to chase anything so I started throwing my plug on their noses and got 2 reaction strikes. I could see almost 20+ bass but none of them were much over a Ibs. I only ended up catching 2 but they were my first Large mouth in the state of Washington sadly. I'm from Texas so needless to say, I was very excited just to see the Black striped on their sides. Some boat guy insisted that I should kill the bass for salmon sake. I was like, I get that, but I've been fishing around here for a year and a half and these are the first I've seen. Any way, it was a fun day on the water. 6 fish landed, sun burnt. Good stuff.
