My wife and I spent the last two evenings targeting LMB on Kapowsin. We got the boat in the water at about 6:00 PM and pulled out around 8:30. The first night, my wife hooked in couple small LMB on a watermelon colored weightless Texas rigged Senko. She also landed a pretty nice perch using the same bait. I fished a chartreuse spinner bait, losing two small ones at the boat.
We returned to the lake the next evening. My wife continued using the watermelon Senko without much luck. She hooked a small one only to lose it at the boat. I brought in two small LMBs on a firetiger Rapala minnow #7. Lots of hits but no more hookups on the Rapala. Other baits used, without luck, include: a chartreuse spinner, popper in perch, and a tube in pumpkin.
On both evening, we fished the area across from the public launch. Even though the fishing was a bit slow, I'm sure key is knowing the right areas to fish. This lake looks like it holds some fish so I will be persistent. Will likely be out there again early tomorrow morning...
Regards, Brian
