Grabbed my boat which I've been leaving at Erickson's and headed out with a buddy.
We tried a few different areas that we don't fish often and had some success.
He tossed a Yamamoto watermelon 6 inch worm and I used the same but in
green/pumpkinseed. Color didn't seem to matter today. We caught several dinks but nothing over
a pound. However,I did see a very large bass. I suck at guessing weight but it had to be pushing
2 feet in length, but since I didn't catch it...well,it will just have to go into the mystery file of the lake. We continued to fish well after sundown and the bite didn't seem to change but neither
did the size. After pulling the boat,we decided to fish the shoreline with worm/bobber
from Erickson's dock, the boathouse light provided excellent lighting to see any movement
of the bobber. Caught plenty of rock bass and a few gills. The bite never slowed but I had to get
home. I called it a day at midnight. All fish were released.
On my way home I had a close call on the road with a bull elk...it wasn't that close but I would
have hit him if I had not been watching the road. Even after stopping my truck,he proceeded
to just stare at me and then after a few moments, slowly walked into an open field.
Clear skies with no wind
