Mardon had it's annual Dock tournament this weekend and the crappie fishing was pretty good. Many keepers were caught and the winner was just over a pound. When I left there were no Trout or Catfish on the board. The biggest Bass was just over 5lbs. Someone had a 7lb walleye. But other than that fishing was really slow. The brand new dock was nice but the habitat needs time to regrow. A pretty relaxing time since we stayed in the cottages. A good end to the summer of fishing lakes for me.

Sounds like fun BS...I love the Potholes! I Lost an approx 10# R/B there this year...still debating whether or not to go back in Oct and get it! Is the new dock as big as the old one?

The dock is about2/3 the size of the old one, but is much nicer. The breakwalls put into place make it enjoyable to fish all day, if you can stand the wind. I remember days on that dock that I thought I wasn't going to make it back to shore. They say the October November bite is incredible, if you can stand the weather.

head to billy clapp and summer falls park off pinto ridge.trout the size of steelhead, dont waste time at mardon.went to potholes last weekend and all i got was some yellow cats in warden lake, got 2 good hits on a bobber.potholes water is very low,but water still flowing in canals.soda lake was full but didnt fish there.be advised its getting in low 40s at night over there so a tent might be rough without a heater, bring lots of firewood.banks should be good soon also.call big wallys for help or coulee playland resort.
