Decided to take a buddy from work and fish McMurray one more time before it closes for the season:( BOOOO!!!
ALL LAKES YEAR ROUND!!
We started the day off working the east shore with jigs, grubs, spinnerbaits and cranks. The spinnerbait (one I made out of a large Beatle Spin frame and clipped a Storm pre-rigged swimbait body to) struck first with a small 12" largemouth. Three otters followed us 3/4 of the way down the shore and would pop their heads up and and check us out while chomping on a minnow, that was very cool!
Jigs and grubs stole the show from there and we boated several fish under 1.5lbs with the largest of the day coming in at 2.1lbs from 11 feet of water on a steep bank on the 1/4oz jig. Had one nail my crankbait but he must not have had a mouth? ;)
Water temps were 56-58 degrees and it was overcast with calm to 5mph winds.
