Made my once-a-year trip to Loon, so don't expect much.
Trolled all day, switching between #2 Needlefish red-white-nickel, J-5 Rapala Firetigre, and F-2 Rapala Brook Trout color, on 2.5 to 3 colors leaded and 75 feet of 6# mono leader.
Around mid-day caught one 13 inch mackinaw on the small Rapala. Had several light hits on the J-5 until I lost it in a weed bed. No hits on the Needlefish, that color usually works well at Loon.
Wind was VERY light and variable all day, temp wasn't too cold, overcast hung on most of the day, altogether a very pretty late fall day on the lake. I usually don't do very well at Loon because I only go there once in the fall, and don't learn the lake very well. My equipment all worked well and that makes it a good day.
Wife baked the mack for supper and it was DELICIOUS!
Saw VERY few fish on the graph, don't know where they were all hiding. Last pass was up the middle of the lake with 8 colors in the water, I saw one BIG fish and one medium at 48 and 49 feet on the graph over about 70 to 80 foot depth, thought sure I might get a hit from one of them, but no luck.
Since I don't fish very often, maybe I should just shut up and read other people's reports!
