well i wasn't going to post a report, but even the slow days are a noteworthy adventure i guess. we fished rufus thursday (22nd), and most of friday and it was a couple of slow days for sure catching-wise. it wasn't nearly as cold these mornings as our last trip and started out in the 30's, warming to the mid 50's or so by mid day. a really pleasant day. friday on the other hand stayed overcast and we had rain most of the day, sometimes coming down in buckets. water temp still in the 60's. started out trolling wedding rings, flies, and various lures and had limited success with few hookups. we dropped the hook and tried bottom fishing and jigging in a few spots and i finally boated a 5lb-3oz fish around 1300 just below the lower set of pens. we only saw one boat that was catching fish consistantly. he was in a favorite hole jigging in about 30' of water, lol. we spent the rest of the day and the following, working on our jigging technique. all i can say is is i need to step up my finesse game. we ended up taking home only the one fish. i think i'll stop concentrating on the upper end of RW so much, and go back to hitting the spots in the lower end. diversity will keep me from getting stagnant i believe. thanks for all the great tips and info loui!
