The "bankers bite" in the lower end of the trench has been really productive. Working the Mineapolis Area and the Bar early hasn't worked very well. By 8:30 - 9:00 in the morning though it has been a great bite in the water from 200' to 230' in that lower end. These are fish mostly from 2 to 6 pounds. The kicker is that it provides one of the better opportunities to get into a beautiful Lake Chelan Landlocked Chinook. I have been running little F-7 flatfish in Luminous Chartreuse and Purple Glow off the downriggers and Purple Glow Rushin' Salmon Wobblers off of 16oz snap weights on the outriggers. As always, try to stay as tight to the bottom as possible. This is a pretty clean area. Snags are unusual, but I would not recommend dragging your gear. The other great thing about these fish from the lower basin is their eating quality. Their meat is beautiful bright red and tightly grained. Just remember to keep them cold and don't over cook them.
