I hit St. Clair from 0900-1430 today. I ended up catching 11 largemouth bass. Took some time to find willing biters, but managed to get 7 off the same log in the south arm of the lake. I threw just about everything i had in my boat at them. A drop shot set up with a chompers 4 inch, rootbeer colored finesse worm did the trick. I didn't catch anything more than a pound in weight, but i got a kick out of showing an older gentleman that you can catch bass this time of year.

Hey fisnfur, how deep was the log and did you have a chance to see the water temp. Nice job for late season LMB.

Sorry, forgot about lake conditions. The water temp was hovering in the 45-46 degree range. I marked most of the fish at 15-25 ft deep. Most were suspended which led to my choice for drop shotting. Instead of rigging the bait 12-18 inches up from the weight, I opted for 30-36 inches. I spent alot of time searching for humps/logs on the bottom in and around 20 foot. If you can find them, you will find fish. Don"t overlook spinnerbaits. I had several follow mine to the boat while trying shallow cover (black with chartreuse/red tipped trailer). Had i used trailer hooks I am sure one or two would have been hooked up.

Wow! Awesome report. it is nice to see that people don't give up on bucket mouths cuz the temp is in the 40's.
