Had my first trip to Rock Lake. It is a really nice large lake. It was about 30-36 degrees out, and we were on the water by 6:15 am and it was still dark. Weather was cold and soaking wet. A little snow early but quickly changed to rain, and alot of it. We started by casting for Browns in the rock reefs. Spent a couple hours doing this with no luck. We switched over to trolling. Within 30 minutes of switching, I got my first brown on a hot-shot brown trout patter. It was an honest 13-14 inch brown, with a nice hook jaw. Then about 20 minutes later my fishing buddy got a smaller rainbow on I believe a flat fish of some type. A little later I hooked into a larger rainbow, about 17 inches with substantial girth. She jumped several times and put a good fight. We needed a net to land her. We only caught 3 fish between 3 of us. The weather chilled my buddies to the bones, I was fine in my 6 layers plus rain gear however taking a pee off the side of the boat was like brain surgery.
