Ive been fising cambell for the last couple of weeks and had some sucsses with some good size trout.one concern i have is 4 of them have had rubber worms in them and one had 2 in it .All but one worm has been 8"or longer. To my concern is to all fisherman PLEASE do not throw rubber worms in the water the fish can not digest them wich could kill them. I do under stand some might lose the worm but 4 fish 5 worms thats not a good percentage .Other than that good to be out on the water. fishing is not bad a lot of hits with little cutthroat But the goood hits genterally fish over 18'long beeing trips or cuts. The cuts are bright pink and great eating. Take a fish boating,Troller

I read somewhere awhile ago that the Wdfw was thinking of banning rubber lures and power eggs just for that reason. Guess nothing came of it. Thanks for the report, nice to hear the lakes are waking up with this warmer weather.

use night crawlers not rubber worms with all this rain there everywhere

I do use night crawlers when I troll sometimes. Some avid bass fisherman that fish for a living can not use live bait. So there for they will generally go to rubber then live bait when fishing rereational not tournement.

Maybe "they" will BAN rubber worms???? Then right after maybe they will BAN steel, cuz all those lost fishing hooks of ANY variety rust in the water! Then after that maybe they will BAN lead weights like they have been talking about for years? Then after that maybe that 2 stroke BAN will go Statewide?? Good luck rowing your boat around catching fish on plastic hooks and rock sinkers!

I appreciate your point Mr. Troller, just be careful what you wish for.....we are ALL potential victims of the dreaded B-word!

To mr fishtimadator I never said ban any thing. I know several bass fisherman and would never ask of that.I even kind of stated that in one of my comments but I think the should ban people that cant read from posting comments. I happen to use a LOT of grubs in my fishing and so does my father wich alos us all the time to take a fish for a boat ride. Bottm line is dont throw used rubber anyting in the water I was guilty of it my self a few years back.

Sorry about that Mr. Troller, I should have specified that it was "kcc" that actually made the "banning" comment, my bad there. My statement was merely meant to be a general 'careful what you wish for' to any fisherman that would wish banning on any other fisherman! Sorry for the confusion Troller. Good fishing to you, hope the rubber worm problem subsides. I for one share your concerns in regards to ANY trash in the water or at the boat launches!! We all have responsibilities to protect the sport we love!

Couple of things:first, they are plastic worms, not rubber.Second,A lot of those trout eat the worms while guys are bass fishing.the reason they don't get hooked is that the hooks being used are too big for the trouts mouth so the trout attack the bait and are on for a few second and get the worm but not the hook. Most plastic worms will float so it's hard to think a trout would eat an 8" worm that's floating on the surface(maybe i guess). The other worms sink cause there is salt or something else in them.,Third I always keep the used worms on the deck of the boat till I eat some food then i use the ziplock from my sandwich for trash and stick all the old line and worms in it and at the end of the day-zip it up and throw it out.easy solution.I have caught trout with plastic worms in thier bellies since I was a kid.it just happens sometimes.
