Launched at the atlantic city park at 8am. Ran over to the south end of mercer island and trolled a cut plug red label herring and a 0000 dodger and herring. Also tried the mouth of the cedar. I was marking fish at all depths at both locations. The downriggers were 28 and 32 feet deep. Had something pull the herring out of the clip while i was setting the other rod out, but i missed it. That happened twice and was the only excitement all day. Talked to 5 other boats and none had any luck either. Also fished a perch pattern apex, and a flat fish in trout colors but no go. Fished till 230, then explored the lake till dark. It was a nice boat ride, but a fish or 4 woulda made it nicer. Saw some guys fishing for smallys (i think) off the so. east side of the island. Thought i recognized the green bass boat from a walakes.com report? Seems like I'm a day late and a dollar short lately.
