1/31/2010 8:31:00 PMWhen we went last weekend there were big signs that said you couldnt fish within 100 feet of the pens. They seemed fairly permanent, but they must have removed them when you guys fished eh? lol.

2/1/2010 5:52:00 PMNice Fish! We chose Spring Canyon that day and got fishless. As far as I know there are 3 net pens on rufus, does #1 start at coulee dam or Chief Joseph? Hope you can un-confuse my old brain. Thanks

2/1/2010 6:33:00 PMThanks Kahuna. I saw a lot of boats down there in the spring canyon area when we went by, I figured you all must've been knocking 'em dead down there. I always launch at Seaton's Grove just below Grand Coulee, so I call that set of net pens the first set. I don't want to misinform you though, because I really don't know how they are labeled. Good luck next time out! I'm done with trout for the winter, time to start hunting the marble eyes.

2/1/2010 7:02:00 PMI like to describe the pens as lower (closest to Chief Jo) Middle (Nespelem) and Upper (closest to Grand Coulee) because describing them this way also has to do with the river flow and that never changes.

2/14/2010 10:17:00 AMIs that fish on the top of the pile in the cooler (with the very white underbelly) a triploid like the others? I caught several trips there a while back which tasted delicious except for one fish that had completely different (and whiter) meat. I didn't notice a species difference when catching or cleaning but we sure could taste a difference when eating. And ideas what that was?
