Wanted to hit Terrell today if for no other reason than to just enjoy the early season high water! LOL! Started the day across the lake from the launch fishing my way west. It was actually sunny with about a 5-10mph wind that switched from out of the north to out of the east during the day. I slow rolled colorado bladed spinnerbaits out to 6', tried jigs, slow crawling frogs over the deeper reed patches, texas rigged worms from shore out to 8', all with zero interest. The wind picked up out of the east to about 10mph, so I motored out to deeper water (9' ish) let it push me west and began dragging a 6" Powerworm rigged texas style with a 1/2oz Tungsten bullet weight un-pegged. About 20 minutes in to that felt a tap tap and after second guessing the bite, I set the hook and low and behold a fish!! It was a great 6 second fight, but I fell victim to my late hookset:( and he swam away......when in doubt, set the hook!!

Had one other nibble on a jig at about 2pm, may have been a perch? Oh so close.... Not complaining though, hooking a largemouth in February is enough to make me smile!! Water temps were 43.5-44.5 degrees, except for the short time the sun was out when I found water up to 45.8*!!
