We went to Rufus Woods over the weekend. Fished Sat.and Sun. We launched at the corps launch by Bridgeport about 8:30 am Sat.and ran up to the upper pens. There was some current running in the morning and my wife got two trolling just below the pens. Not big, one was 5.5lbs and the other was 4lbs. We then moved down to the middle pens and got nothing. We then went to the lower pens and I got two, one 4.5lbs and 3.5lbs. As we were going back to the launch we encountered this little rascal swimming across the river. He was out in the middle. On Sunday morning we launched about 7:30 am and were running up to the pens when we ran into some really thick fog about three miles below the lower pen. We inched along using our gps until we found the pens. Fished there, getting nothing, until the fog lifted enough to go to the upper pens. We trolled there, got nothing. Moved to middle pens. Nothing there. Back to lower pens and my wife caught one, 4.5 lbs trolling next to the pens. Only fish of the day, but we did have several other light hits. Tryed several places on our way back to the launch. Zippo. Caught all fish on black wooly buggers and muddler minows.

Great report and nice fishes. Those fish seem to be hitting softer all the time. Curious as what is causing them to be that way.
That's the second coyote I have known to swim the river. When I was about 17 saw one swim clear across it by what I know now as pump #2 about a week after that saw a deer swim across in the same spot. Wish i had the stamina to swim that far LOL

Great report, appreciate the detail! Anybody else doing about the same? I found at times when the bite was that light, go big and loud like a Mag Wart, a Brad's Magnum Wiggler, or a big Hot Shot. I single these out with one siwash hook on the back end.
