I just wanted to say to Larry and his brother .... I have NEVER caught " mostly 12 " perch " in Lake Washington,
or any other lake for that matter. I have caught a few of the 12" variety during every trip, but certainly never the
majority. I guess in all these many years I have also caught a very FEW as large as 14" and seen few caught.
I was wondering what Larry and his brother were referring to as the " couple of big boys in the bucket ..."
There must be some HUGE perch out there that I have never heard about or seen in the past 30 years !!!

As far as I know a 12 " perch is considered a ' lunker ' by most standards.

As for leaving the skin on the perch meat, I don't bother (like the man said), fresh meat is a good thing.
Why be messin with the skin .... I simply fillet a few little ones without any skin and ' chunk ' em for everybody
on my boat. We have never had to fish deeper then 45 feet and baiting hooks is not a problem.
Another method for catching them is using their eyeballs as bait. Obviously when you drop the cleaned
head/carcass overboard (under your boat), that attracts schools as well.

Happy fishin ........ I will be heading up to Ferndale soon to dip some smelt in the Nooksack real soon, a family
tradition going back to when my 80 year old father was a kid.
