First, I would like to answer the " Fishin Musician " regarding his question about the Kenmore boat launch.
Years ago, the entire ' beach ' along the slew was fair game for boat launching. That was changed because the ' traffic ' included
many 4X4's who dug and tore-up the area. The only way to put a STOP to it was to block it off with large rocks and have one launch.
Unfortunately, as is normally the case, a few ruined it for all the rest of us.
However, IF the launch (which is well posted at the entrance and at the launch), was patrolled and tickets written it would not be so crowded.
Why, because the ONLY launching and parking allowed is supposed to be those of us who BUY fishing licenses and/or ' Recreation ' passes.
If one actually took the time to ' observe ' the windshields of parked vehicles with trailers, one would find that more the 50% of them did NOT
display the REQUIRED stickers to USE this facility (which I might add, is PAID for and MAINTAINED by these user fees.)
That is WHY this launch facility is overcrowded and will continue to be, without enforcement. Obviously, the individuals who use this facility
without paying for it do not care about ' warning ' tickets.
I have written to the Dept. of Fish & Wildlife about this (because I happen to be a disabled Viet Nam Veteran), upset about not being able to use
this facility because of all the Jet Skiiers, Ski Boats, etc., illegally parked there. They said it would be patrolled more .... obviously that never happened.
It is still impossible to park there during the summer season and/or sunny weekends of the fall.
I digress, Perch fishing was (as is usually the case), excellent between 40 and 45 feet using plastic jigs tipped with perch meat : - )
Of course, the usual ski boats (many having no clue how to load a boat in less than 20 minutes), were there WITHOUT ' stickers ' clogging up the launch area
and taking up parking space.
And so it goes ......
