I heard that Bradley lake was stocked recently, and I hadn't broken in the new rod and reel my wife gave me on valentines day, so I figured that I could settle for some little stockers. I got there around 2:45 and went to the dock area. That didn't last very long due to the annoying kids buggin me and my dog was with me and she was freezing in the shade. So after about 10 minutes I went to one of my favorite spots on the far side of the lake where it was more private and still sunny and warm for the dog. Over the next 2 hours I landed 3 rainbows (all stockers between 10 and 12 inches) and missed another 5 or 6. I was using small salad shrimp with a 3ft leader and a slip sinker, very close to shore, only 10-15 ft out and on the bottom. I talked to 3 different people using powerbait and worms who said they hadn't had bites all day, and that I was the only person they had seen catch anything. I've used salad shrimp or raw hamburger for trout bait my entire life and have always outfished the people around me. Its hard to keep on your hook, but it's worth the hassle when you keep the skunk off your back.
