I went to St. Edwards state park on Monday to try and find shore access to a hole we spotted from a boat a few days earlier. I was able to get to it, but lack of beach and overhanging branches prevented me from reaching it with a bobber to suspend my bait above the weeds. I ended up fishing without a bobber and spending half my time clearing weeds from the rig, and missing strikes because of the heavy, slimy weeds. I did get a lot of perch and a few pumpkinseed sunfish. The perch were on the small side, and the sunfish were fun to play with. Combined with a nice walk on well maintained trails, it was an enjoyable way to end the 3 day weekend.

Some days I'm glad I don't own a boat. The ramp at the 68th ave bridge in Kenmore was full to overflowing. Why was the state so shortsighted as to put in only 1 ramp?
