This was a tale of 2 trips. First, I decided to go above the Yacht Club and try to mine a big laker out of the deepwater above the Yacht Club. This time it didn't work. We scratched out a few smaller fish in a 4 hour trip. We had fun, the weather was great and we generally had a nice trip. Andy took the North River and pounded pods of fishing in the lower basin and did very well. with the Hennessey crew. The venerable Luminous Chartreuse Flatfish in U20 size produced best. Mack's Lures Luminous and UV squid rigs baited with herring strips got some fish to bite too. The purple glow Rushin' Salmon Wobblers from Critter Gitter picked up some fish off the outrigger rods.

The best areas for us were the deeper holes in the 210 to 220 range surrounding the Bar. Later in the day, the trench was loaded with fish, although it was work getting them to bite. We have debated the theory if the fish are turning on when the weather is cloudier and locking their jaws a bit more in the sunny weather. Or maybe, somedays it's your turn in the barrel. Overall, it has been a great February here on Chelan. With all the surface activity we have been seeing over the past week, I expect the Kokanee bite to pick up earlier than usual.
